So, I know I’ve missed one week of Hits & Misses. But don’t hold it against me, please. There has been a lot going on. Juggling between all of my projects on the go, the blog, the cooking for the la familia, and the social life, e.i. Latin Dancing 2-3 times a week… I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, and feel like I’m not being as productive as I should be lately. Big MISS for me there. But it is a new week, and I’m starting fresh! =) Having been sick for the last couple of days doesn’t help the matters by the way either. Although, I gotta say, the power of thought and affirmation is so strong! My three best medicines against sickness are: 1. Affirm to yourself that you are NOT sick, that you ARE healthy & your immune system is strong at fighting the virus, 2. Drink LOTS & LOTS of hot tea with lemon & honey to give yourself an instant boost of Vitamin C, and the most powerful of them all #3. Sleep/Rest. These has been my friendly weapons against the virus, and it’s totally working! I had a very mild form of what could have been a bad cold. =)

Enough talking, lets get to the Hits & Misses already, right?

This Week’s Hits are:

- The beach on a Sunny day in November. Technically this didn’t happen last week, but the week before, however, since I haven’t posted last week, I’m writing about it now. I had to drive to Wasaga Beach to do some site photography. It was a brilliant, sunny day, and since I had my lovely friend Aysel with me, and was already equipped with my favourite camera, I suggested we go down to the beach, to enjoy the gorgeous day, and do a mini photoshoot as well. I have to admit, I have never been to the beach in the Fall/Winter months, and wow, it was so peaceful and so beautiful. The beach was completely deserted, except for a few cute seagulls chilling by the water. The sky was as blue as it gets, and the water was still & crystal clear. The feeling I had while standing there and looking beyond the water, was one of total peace, joy & serenity. And today, I want to just share with you a few of the shots I snapped that day.

- Tangerines. There is something about the citrusy smell and the sweet taste of tangerines that remind me of winter. I guess, because when I was growing up, tangerines were a seasonal fruit back home in Baku, Azerbaijan, and were mostly sold during the Winter months. So every time I start to peel a tangerine I am reminded of my childhood memories around New Years time, and it makes me smile.

This Week’s Misses are:

- AutoCAD, or rather my loss of memory of how to use it. When I design and put floor plans together for my clients, I normally use SketchUp, because it is a lot easier to create 3D models of spaces, and is a lot more suitable for the type of Interior Design that I do. But now, I have been asked to put some working drawings on CAD by a designer friend to help her out, and boy, oh boy… I opened the program, and went: Okaaay… Now what do I do? I forgot how to use it! Can you believe it though, I have used this program all through my 3 years of college, and basically lived and breathed it for all those years. But now, not having to use it for the last 2 years, I kinda forgot my way around it. And it is totally upsetting! I’m sure once I spent a few hours poking around, it will all come back to me, but it still bothers me that I could so easily forget something I was so good at, because I haven’t practiced it for 2 years. Moral of the story, if you want to remain good at something, make sure you practice it often, or else, your memory will act as if it has no recollection of ever doing it.
