With all the negativity going on the world around us, it is so hard sometimes not to react back with more negativity. But what good does that do? Does it make the situation better? Does it fix anything? Does it make you feel better?

The answer is No. No, it doesn’t.

What reacting negatively to people, situations, circumstances does is expand & multiply the negative energy, which in return creates more negativity in the world.

So what is the solution? How do we break the cycle of negativity?

I couldn’t have put it in better words myself than it was written in this expert from the book that is featured below.

I definitely needed a reminder of this today, and glad I got to re-read this again tonight when posting. Just because you read a certain book once, doesn’t mean that you will remember its wisdom forever. It is a great idea to pick it up from time to time and just leaf through to remind yourself of the lessons, the wisdom & the love so many amazing books have.

This conversation takes place between Dylan and Nikki. While she’s cleaning up in the kitchen after their dinner together, Dylan flicks through the TV, until he finds a news feed on CNBC… Page 272

{ He couldn’t help but notice Nikki’s humming over the news broadcast. After the reporter covered a story on a political sex scandal that had held Dylan’s interest for some time, he turned off the tele. He began tossing in his two bits worth of opinion about the scandal, criticizing the President of the United States for the role he played in the dilemma.
Nikki seemed blatantly disintirested and busied herself in the kitcken while he droned on about the affair. When it was clear she wasn’t listening, feeling slighted, he touched her arm and asked, “Don’t you even care what I have to say?”

“I care about everything that goes on in your head and heart, Dylan. Truly, I meant no personal offense. It’s just that…well…I don’t believe your criticism of the President or the situation actually does any good or in any way changes the cirumstances. I don’t want to be responsible for encouraging you to engage in any form of judgment, critisim, or condemnation – of any person, place, or thing!”

Shocked, his eyes widened in disbelief. “How can you not be interested or have an opinion about world affairs? Are you purposely as blind as that?”

“I’m very much interested in the state of this planet, my brothers, and the world at large, darling. I just have a different approach than you do, that’s all. You see, when one participates, through thought, feeling, or word, in the process of criticizing, judging, or condemning something or someone, it starts an energy moving which affect the reality around us.” She could see confusion in his eyes and decided to expound upon the theory a little further.

“We create with every single thought and feeling, with the power of our attention and intention, and with the power of our words and actions. If I judge or condemn another, where’s that negative energy going to do its business first – in my personal energy field – right? Then it moves on to the subject or object of my criticism and creates both an unnecessary binding karmic connection between us, and a new reality for them. What may have been a temporary incident for their own learning now becomes a prison of opinion in which they’re held in bondage! Then, that negative vibe continues on around the great circle of life, gathering more of its kind, and eventually makes its way back to me, magnified. BOOM! I just created hell in my own life under the guise of ‘caring and having an opinion.’

“It’s infinitely more powerful to affect change in the world and in the people around us in a constructive way. It’s not that I’m blind to the injustices on our planet, it’s just when I become aware of such activity, I do more to bless another, or a situation, and myself, by holding that person or situation in God’s light or perfection. It frees them from the tyranny of the actions of their ego and comes back to bless my lfe. It’s completely selfish in a way!”

He wanted to justify his viewpoint, demanding that we need to hold people responsible for their actions, but realized she was just trying to teach him how to MANAGE energy. It had been a physics lesson. He sat silently absorbing and digesting both the dinner and her words. }

What an inspiration… After being reminded of this wonderful truth, I am going to monitor my thoughts even more carefully now. Not knowing how the Universe works is half the problem. When you know how it works & don’t apply the wisdom to your life is when I feel you are cheating yourself out of the kind of blissful life you could be living… While helping to create a happier World around you… =)

Just my opinion…

Please share yours.

I find most people are becoming aware and attentive to the universal laws and powers, hence, the success of the secret novel. However, i feel the teachings must become more practical.

For instance, how do you go about understanding the law of attraction. How do you form the mindset? What’s the procedure?

    Hey Leyla,

There is definitely a lot of negativity constantly going on around us. I believe the most important aspect about controlling negativity is not allowing the negativity to transfer to you.

Whenever someone is being negative, try to not get into the conversation and instead switch the dialogue into something more positive. Or just nod and don’t say a word. :D

I know it’s not always that simple but it helps at times.

    Hey Leyla,

I’ve never looked at criticism this way, it sure is interesting. It think its definitely got me thinking about how I react when I have an opinion.

I think we can all benefit from this post, we’re not getting anywhere close to changing the world with all this negativity.

Thanks for sharing that insert, it sounds like a wonderful read, what’s the title of this book?

Wow this is such an inspiration. True words! But what about showing or saying people that their action wasn’t right? Should I act the same as here in the articel?
